THE manager of a popular restaurant in Weymouth has confirmed that the business expects to be trading for the next 12 months despite a listing for the building appearing online.
A listing for 41 Abbotsbury Road, where Brazilian restaurant Sambo is located alongside four apartments, appeared on real estate website Right Move seeking offers in excess of £600,000.
However, despite the post on the website the manager of Sambo has dispelled rumours that the business may be relocating or moving away.
He said: “As far as we are concerned we will be trading for at least 12 months.
“We are going to be here, we are not going.”
Rumours had circulated online that the restaurant could be relocating or leaving the town altogether but the manager was keen to assure customers that is not currently the plan.
The online listing by estate agent Savills says the owners of the building, formerly known as the Rock, are looking for offers in excess of £600,000 for the ‘attractive public house investment’ that offers the passing rent of the restaurant in addition to four fully let apartments above.
The description says the building is a large, three-storey public house arranged over ground, first and second floors.
The ground floor has the main trading area with a central bar and open plan surrounding seating, complete with male and female toilets. Alongside a small trade kitchen and cellar.
While the first floor comprises three lettable apartments currently occupied by tenants - the accommodation areas include bedrooms, kitchen, dining space and bathrooms.
And the second floor is a further flat with a bedroom, kitchen and dining area and bathroom.
