A MOTORIST must pay more than £700 after driving over the speed limit along the A35.
Weymouth Magistrates Court heard how Michael David Jackson was behind the wheel of a silver Vauxhall on May 18 last year driving along the A35 Trunk Road at Miles Cross travelling at 78mph. The speed limit on the stretch he was on is 50mph.
On Monday, of this week, Jackson, of Anston Avenue, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, admitted exceeding a 50mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.
Jackson has been ordered to pay a fine of £580, a surcharge of £58, and court costs of £85 - totalling £723.
His licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
