A 14-YEAR-OLD boy suffered a broken arm and concussion in a reported assault by another teenager in Weymouth in early February.

Dorset Police confirmed they received a report that on Wednesday, February 9, a boy was assaulted by another teenage boy in Chickerell Road near to the junction with Everdene Drive.

The victim sustained a number of injuries including a broken arm as a result of the alleged assault and was also treated for concussion.

Following enquiries by detectives from Weymouth CID, a 13-year-old local boy attended for a voluntary police interview in connection with the incident. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

Detective Constable Kate Rhodes, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

"I know that there were a number of teenagers that witnessed the assault and I would ask that if anyone who is reading this and has videoed it or knows of any recordings, they do the right thing and come forward.

"The incident also occurred by a busy junction in the middle of the afternoon, I am keen to hear from any motorists or road users who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage or helmet cameras to please review it with my thanks.”
