THE ballroom roof of Weymouth's iconic Grade II listed Riviera Hotel has collapsed as Storm Eunice wreaks havoc in Dorset.
The roof came crashing onto a water pipe, leaving the Bowleaze Cove hotel without any running water.
Staff at the hotel said it happened just after breakfast and that they were trying their best to sort the issue as quickly as possible - but were struggling to get anyone who could help them to come out.
It comes ahead of a Northern Soul event at the hotel this weekend - set to be the busiest weekend of the year.
The operations supervisor at the Riveria, Liz Durden, said that they were trying to call as many guests as they could to inform them of the problem prior to their arrival and expected some people to not travel due to the adverse weather conditions.
She said: "Guests have been quite understanding about the situation.
"It's a shame because normally we would be really busy. We do this event twice a year, in February and September, and it's always very popular."
As a result of the storm other damage caused to the hotel included a smashed window, a fallen phone cable and the complete collapse of a shed outside the front of the building.
