REPORTS of a vulnerable woman in the sea off the coast of Weymouth sparked a major emergency response.
Coastguards from Wyke and Portland Bill rescue teams along with Weymouth RNLI lifeboat and the ambulance service responded to reports of a vulnerable female, "possibly in the water" at Greenhill beach yesterday at around 9.12pm.
Rescuers say they arrived to find the woman safe.
A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The team arrived on scene to find the casualty safe and in the care of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. She was located waist deep just off the beach at Greenhill."
