BOXING fans will be treated to a night of quality bouts at Weymouth Pavilion on Saturday (6pm).
Weymouth-based Grey Ranks Crew – the brainchild of talented ex-amateur fighter Martin Fojt – will host an evening jam-packed with 16 bouts.
All the action takes place in the Ocean Room, with doors opening from 6pm for a 7.30pm start with adults, seniors and juniors all competing.
Boxing under their registration with England Boxing for the last three years, the Grey Ranks Crew have fielded boxers at both national and international level and under Martin’s guidance are progressing from strength to strength.
Last year, Fojt secured new premises for the gym on Lynch Lane and the club now boasts a full-size boxing ring and a well-equipped and very spacious training area.
Sessions range from kids classes, where youngsters from the age of six focus on stamina, agility and boxing skills. They then progress to the juniors, where 13 to 16-year-olds train and begin to take part in skills bouts against other clubs to learn the processes of competing in boxing.
The seniors group meets three times a week and carded boxers, those that are registered to fight in competitions, also meet on a Sunday. Fojt also takes one-to-one sessions with individuals.
Tickets cost £20 and are available from Gordon on 07551728473. This promises to be an evening of high-quality entertainment provided by an outstanding local club.
