This World Cancer Day (Friday, February 4), young people in Dorset supported by Young Lives vs Cancer will be celebrating their big and small wins while facing cancer.

Our social workers help young people in the community find the strength to face their cancer, and everything it throws at them.

With the community’s support this World Cancer Day, our social workers based at Southampton General Hospital (the nearest Principal Treatment Centre for the majority of Dorset young cancer patients) can continue to help young people thrive, not just survive, during and after cancer treatment.

Band together with young people with a World Cancer Day band from our online store and join us in showing support for families. Bands are also available at JD Wetherspoon for a suggested £2 donation.

Quizzers, bakers, gamers and hosts with the most, are invited to host their own event to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. Hosts can choose their own event, whether it’s a quiz, dinner, disco or karaoke, and raise money for young people facing cancer. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/WorldCancerDay2022

Anyone looking for a sponsorship challenge could also take on a ‘Month of Movement’, which starts whenever they’re ready. Participants are asked to complete 30 minutes of movement per day for 30 days.

Last but by no means least, our celebrity ambassador, founder of beauty brand Isle of Paradise, Jules von Hep has designed a limited-edition t-shirt with all proceeds going to Young Lives vs Cancer. The t-shirt will be on sale for two weeks from World Cancer Day (February 4 2022). All t-shirts will be available to order via the website.

You can find more information on how to get involved on our website www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

I would like to say a personal thank you to everyone in the community who has supported Young Lives vs Cancer. Your help and generosity means we can continue to be there for more children and young people from Dorset facing cancer.

Yours faithfully
