A woman has been taken to hospital after being stabbed on Weymouth Beach yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened at the Greenhill end of the beach opposite the Weymouth Sealife Centre at around 1.40pm and a woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victim is being treated by injuries that are not life-threatening.
An investigation is now underway by Weymouth CID, Dorset Police have confirmed.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "A woman has been stabbed on Weymouth Beach opposite the Sealife Centre. Officers attended with the ambulance service. The victim received injuries to her leg and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
"A woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and a full investigation is now underway led by detectives from Weymouth CID."
