I have recently been reading about a complaint about the Duke of Cornwall.
I would point out that The Ship Inn, The George, The Sailors Return, The Royal Oak and the Duke of Cornwall have in many cases existed for over 100 years. The Rendezvous next to the Royal Oak has music, sometimes outside closing the road. The Royal Oak has music and I think the Working Men’s Club across from the Duke of Cornwall also has music.
The whole area has been an area of restaurants, clubs and bars for years. The harbour is a working harbour with fishing boats leaving early in the morning and yachts masts clinking 24 hours a day.
I would suggest that if you want to buy or rent in that area you would look around and realise that it’s going to be noisy. It’s a bit like buying in the country and then complaining about church bells, cows, mud and cockerels.
I don’t know who Respect Weymouth are, or what or whom they respect, but it doesn’t seem to be the people who have tried to keep their premises open with great difficulty during Covid.
I would suggest if you don’t like noise, don’t live in that area. Caveat Emptor (buyer beware).
