MONTH-long roadworks have started on a key Weymouth route.
A two-way temporary traffic light system is now in place in Newstead Road to allow Wessex Water continue work to replace a leaking water pipe.
The utility company said work below Rodwell Trail bridge, up to the Marsh Road junction, is expected to conclude on Tuesday, February 11.

Motorists are being asked to be patient as delays are likely.
A Wessex Water spokesman said: "We’re replacing water mains that are prone to leaks and bursts, meaning improved water quality and a more reliable supply.
"We’ll be working from below Rodwell Trail bridge, finishing on Marsh Road, with temporary two-way traffic lights in use for the safety of road users and our workforce.
"We’re sorry for any traffic delays caused by this essential work, which finishes on February 11."
Newstead Road, in Westham, was closed from November until mid-December to allow Wessex Water to work on the first phase of replacing a leaking water pipe underneath the route.
