CLINICS are set to be launched in Dorset next year to offer support to unpaid carers, starting with a trial in Puddletown.
On Friday January 21 Carer Support Dorset will be running its first ever Carers Clinic in Puddletown Surgery.
This will be a trial in what is set to be a rolled-out programme for other GP surgeries across Dorset.
“We are delighted to be able to offer these clinics for carers at Puddletown Surgery,” said Anna Elston, manager at Carer Support Dorset.
“Unpaid carers can often struggle to access support and by working with Puddletown Surgery, it is hoped that the unpaid carers based in this area will be encouraged to seek help or advice regarding their caring roles.”
Unpaid carers who are currently registered with the surgery will be able to book a 30-minute slot with one of the advisers to discuss any issues or concerns that they have about their caring role including finances, health and wellbeing or for more information on the condition of the person they care for.
