A NORTH Dorset farm site is to be allowed to continue storing cars, caravans and boats.
Dorset Council has granted Old Brickyard Farm at Shaftesbury Road, Motcombe a certificate of lawful use for its storage business.
Dorset Council was told that the site, just off the B3081, had been used for storage for at least ten years – using a former poultry house which itself has a planning permission dating back to 1986. The site operator, Mr Michael Hagger, says that the unit has been used for storage uninterrupted since 2005, qualifying for lawful use, a position backed by his accountant.
Motcombe parish council had supported the application, which also extends to the storage of household items.
