A MAN was brought to safety following a concern for welfare incident at Portland Bill.
Police officers responded to the concerns of the welfare of a man off Portland Bill Road on the isle at 7.06pm on Sunday (December 12).
The man was found by emergency services and taken to safety. He was given further care, a force spokesman added.
Coastguard crews from Portland Bill and Wyke Regis were called to the scene to support police officers.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 7.06pm on Sunday, December 12 raising concern for the welfare of a man in the area of Portland Bill Road on Portland.
"Officers attended and were assisted by the coastguard.
"The man was located at around 7.25pm and taken to safety. He was given appropriate care."
A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard CRT said: "Team tasked at 7.21pm along with Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team to an incident at Portland Bill.
"Both teams remained on scene in support of Weymouth and Portland Police until the successful conclusion of the incident."
