MORE than 500 new Covid cases have been recorded across Dorset, according to the latest figures.
The latest data from the Government shows a total of 549 new cases across the whole of the county in the 24 hours up to 4pm on Sunday, December 12.
In the Dorset Council area, 249 new infections have been seen across the past day bringing the total to 46,957.
Over the past seven days, 2,220 new positive results were confirmed, giving a case rate of 584.5 per 100,000 people.
300 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed across the BCP Council area. The new inflections bring the total number of cases across the area to 66,557.
Over the past seven days, 2,580 new positive results were confirmed giving a rate of 649.9 per 100,000 people.
The total sum of Covid-19 cases across the entire Dorset country now stands at 113,154.
In the New Forest, 114 people have tested positive for the coronavirus bringing the total to 21,649 since March 2020.
The case rate across the New Forest district for the past seven days stands at 582.8 after 1,047 cases were confirmed after the last seven-day period.
