IT IS important that every child gets a gift to open at Christmas, says the latest business to back Dorset Echo's 2021 Christmas Toy Appeal.

Nicoll World Travel, in Dorchester, has provided a generous £100 donation to support the campaign.

Every penny of their funding will go towards buying presents for children in Dorset who may otherwise go without on Christmas Day.

“It is important that every child gets a gift at Christmas,” said Beth Holder, manager at Nicoll World Travel.

“It is definitely important we do this to support those around us.

“We are proud and happy to support the Toy Appeal.”

Nicoll World Travel is an independent travel agent in Dorchester town centre which specialises in a wide range of holidays.

Last year Dorset Echo raised its highest ever amount of £5,432, despite the pandemic, and thanks to donations like this from the travel agent this year's total is on course to smash that record once again.

Debbie Hellaby Newsquest Group Promotions Manager said: “Sourcing, collecting and organising the toys for hundreds of children is not an easy task, the toys are usually matched to the age and interest of each child individually.

“We are delighted to accept the support of the Weymouth Rotary Club to facilitate the collection and collation of toys.”

Weymouth Rotary have supported the appeal for several years now and their help this year means that the gifts can be successfully collated as well as their donation which means more gifts can be supplied for children in Dorset to open on December 25.

Toys can be dropped off in Weymouth at Asda, Howleys, Morrisons, Tesco (in the town centre), WH Smith and Wilkinsons.

In Dorchester the drop-off points are at Tesco, Toymaster, WH Smith and Boo’s Toyshop, Poundbury.

In Portland, people can drop off gifts at the Co-Op and Tesco, Easton, while in Bridport the bins are located at Morrisons and Toymaster.
