A POPULAR Christmas tree collection and recycling scheme supporting a local charity is returning.
Weldmar Hospicecare is pleased to announce it will once again be collecting and recycling real trees from across Dorset in early January 2022. In return for a minimum suggested donation of £10, trees can be collected from home and business addresses, between January 8-10.
The initiative is being supported by Trinity Street Christmas Trees, whose team will be making the collections in Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Blandford, Bridport, Sherborne, Shaftesbury and Gillingham. Weldmar volunteers, including a team from Magna Housing, will help with collections in Beaminster.
Fiona Hansford, who co-ordinates the project for Weldmar, said: “We’re so looking forward to helping the people of Dorset with their Christmas tree clear up again this year. Every tree collected means money raised for the end of life care we provide. It’s been a challenging time for fundraising over the last 18 months so this scheme is needed now more than ever.”
