A ROAD through a Dorset village currently closed for repairs cannot fully reopen - because there are problems with the concrete setting.
Dorset Council workers are currently resurfacing Norden Lane in Maiden Newton between 9am and 4pm from today (Wednesday, November 24) with works set to be completed by Friday (November 26).
The full road closure is in place to safely allow workers to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurface Norden Lane.
However in a council update, the road will not be able to fully reopen at 4pm 'due to a problem with concrete setting'.
Access through the road closure will be allowed for residents and emergency vehicles.
A spokesman for Travel Dorset said: "Due to a problem with concrete setting, the Dorset Council road closure on Norden Lane cannot be lifted for through-traffic but immediate access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained."
Dorset Council has been contacted for a further comment.
