FIVE people have put themselves forward to become a Lyme Regis town councillor.
Members of Lyme Regis Town Council will be appointing a new councillor as there were not enough requests for an election.
By the closing date, five people had applied for the position – Caroline Aldridge, Allan Lewis, Owen Lovell, Steve Miller and Mark Schine.
Each of the applicants has submitted a short explanation of why they would like to be co-opted to the council.
An extraordinary Full Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 23 to allow members to meet the applicants and vote on their preferred candidate.
The vote will take place in public and the successful candidate will need to have a clear majority.
Mayor Brian Larcombe, said: “We welcome the interest being taken in being part of Lyme Regis Town Council and we look forward to the valuable contribution we hope the successful candidate will make.”
