DORSET speedster Dan Mackintosh is continuing the hunt for sponsorship as he progresses his motorsport career.

The Rampisham racer is struggling to get local sponsors to support his career but despite this he remains positive and competes in as many events as he can.

In 2021, Mackinstosh has competed in the Porsche Cayman GB Challenge Trophy and for 2022 has an entry into the German DTM Trophy series driving an Audi R8-GT-4 around circuits in Europe such as Monza, Hockenheim and Spa.

Mackintosh recently tested a Revolution A-1 prototype LMP2 car at Silverstone and has been invited to further tests with the 500bhp turbo version capable over 175mph, with an opportunity to compete in a full season in 2023.

To round off 2021, Mackintosh was invited by his old school Beaminster to represent them in Race for Remembrance, a gruelling two-hour endurance event at Thruxton.

The race helped raise money for Mission Motorsport, a charity supporting wounded veterans.

Mackintosh and compatriot Harvey Harding, also from Beaminster School, took turns in racing round the track racing against 19 other teams.

Starting from pole position, the duo took fastest lap and won the race.

Mackintosh also continues to support Dreamflight, a children’s charity that takes 192 children with chronic illnesses or disabilities to Florida each year to have fun at the numerous theme parks the state has to offer.

Mackintosh donates part of any sponsorship funding to this worthwhile cause.
