DORSET environmental groups are planning two new beach cleans this weekend in a bid to tidy up the county’s coastlines.
Paws on Weymouth Beaches and Open Spaces will be leading a clean on Saturday, November 6, between 10.30am and 12pm to clear up after Bonfire Night along Weymouth beach.
The group will meet at the pier bandstand as they attempt to clear up potential waste from the fireworks celebrations including sparklers left in the sand which could damage dogs’ paws.
On the following day, Sunday November 7, Weymouth and Portland Marine Litter Project will lead a clean along Chesil Beach.
Those attending meet on the grassed area behind the Chesil centre just prior to 10am working their way west until midday.
