Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran are working on a new Christmas single ahead of the festive season this winter.
Sir Elton, 74, wanted to keep details of their new song under wraps, but Sheeran, 30 revealed the plans on Dutch radio station NPO Radio 2 earlier this month.
“He rung me on Christmas Day and he said, [1973 hit] Step Into Christmas is No. 6 on the charts, and I'm 74, and I'm still having f****** chart hits, this is great!” Sheeran said.
“I want to do another Christmas song, will you do it with me?”
Speaking to NME, Sir Elton said: "“Yeah, he let the cat out of the bag didn't he?'
"I was sworn to secrecy and then big mouth f****** Sheeran goes to the Netherlands!"
He continued: "It's supposed to come out – we haven't finished it yet, so there's still work to be done.”

There are no further details about the track, but fans are hoping it will be released this Christmas.
The single will face stiff competition for the Christmas Number One spot from LadBaby, who has taken the top spot on each Christmas for the last three years.
Sheeran has previously spoken about how the death of a friend made him want to do a Christmas song.
He explained: "I've never really wanted to do a Christmas song. It really just hit home how stuff can just change overnight.
"I was like, 'Why the f*** am I not doing a Christmas song with Elton John? I might not be here tomorrow, this will be a f****** great way to celebrate Christmas’.”
Both artists have released new albums this month, with Sir Elton releasing a star-studded collaboration album, The Lockdown Sessions, on October 22.
Sheeran’s latest album = (equals), was released today and tickets for his 2022 tour have already gone on sale.
