A TOWN in Dorset has been named as one of the cheapest places to live in the south of England.
Property specialist Leaders Romans Group (LRG) has put together a list of 10 affordable places across the South of England that undercut the national average, with properties available to buy for £250,000 or less.

There are two areas within the south west that make up the top 10 including Dorset's Blandford in seventh. Gloucester was named the cheapest place to live in the south of England.
Blandford, which according to LRG has average houses at £246,000 and average rent of £800 per month, is a Georgian market town that sits close to the River Stour, northwest of Poole and around 20 minutes from Wimborne.
The list includes Gloucestershire (£187,000), Redditch (£192,000), Ipswich (£202,000), Bedford (£225,000), Hailsham (£235,000), Colchester (£245,000), Blandford (£246,000), Milton Keynes (£248,000), Bognor Regis (£257,000), and Southend (£294,000).
