A MAN with a white dog was seen shouting through a letterbox and threatening residents in Weymouth - leading to a swift response from police.
The man, who was described as 5ft 7inches with a scraggly beard was spotted drinking alcohol outside Boss Woodworks in Lennox Street just after 8pm on Sunday, police said.
The man, who had a white Staffordshire bull terrier, was then seen shouting abuse through a resident's letterbox in Lennox Street and banging a metal shutter belonging to Boss Woodworks.

It is alleged the man then threatened three men in Lennox Street with a glass bottle before walking towards the direction of Queens Street.
Throughout the incident, the dog belonging to the man was off its lead and looked to be in a distressed state, according to eyewitnesses.
A spokeswoman from Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 8.26pm on Sunday, October 17 that a man was acting aggressively on Lennox Street in Weymouth.
"The man left the area a short time afterwards.
"No arrests were made."
