THE best campsites across the south west have been revealed - with three entries from Dorset making the cut.
With summer 2021 over, holidaymakers are already planning for their next staycation - with 2022 fast approaching.
A study from online holiday firm Pitchup has revealed the top 10 most highly-rated campsites across the south west region according to customer reviews.
Making the top 10 is Trigon Farm, Wareham (sixth), Edwards Farm near Shaftesbury (ninth), and Pilsdon View, near Bridport (10th).
Trigon Farm, Wareham
Rated 9.9/10 by past guests, Trigon Farm is a family-friendly wildlife haven surrounded by ancient oaks, tucked away from main roads and traffic.
A spokeswoman from Pitchup, said: "It provides plenty of space to explore the local flora and fauna (including deer, buzzards and woodpeckers), or head to nearby Monkey World for some more exotic animals.
"It's also just half an hour to the beautiful beaches at Studland and Swanage.
"Non-electric tent and trailer tent pitches share the space with a small number of ready-erected bell tents."
As a temporary ‘pop-up’ campsite, it is now closed for 2021 but given that 100 per cent of past guests would recommend it to a friend, and 99 per cent would stay here again.
Edwards Farm near Shaftesbury
With an average rating of 9.8/10 in 2020, this is Dorset’s second entry in the region's top 10.
The spokeswoman added: "A small farm site that may be relatively simple in amenities but it's a big hit with guests.
"Choose from grass tent pitches or ready-erected bell tents - both have access to toilets, solar showers and washing up facilities and guests are welcome to borrow a firepit for the duration of their stay.
"The site sits at the base of the well-known Foyle Hill cycling route, with sublime scenery luring in bikers and hikers including stunning sunsets."
Pilsdon View, near Bridport
Rated 9.8/10, the campsite emphasises eco-friendly with top marks for child-friendliness, customer service and value for money mean that there is sure to be a high number of repeat guests booking up for next summer when the site reopens from July 15.
The spokeswoman added: "There is plenty of space at Pilsdon with four acres to roam.
"The eco-friendly site has its own wildflower meadow, with tyre swing and garden toys to keep younger guests entertained.
"The river Char runs alongside the site, and there’s easy access to a number of footpaths and bike tracks to explore further afield. Pitch up with your own tent, or book a ready-erected unfurnished bell tent or yurt - the latter come complete with beds, linen, campers kitchen and cooking equipment for an even easier stay. All guests have access to shared toilets, showers and washing up facilities."
