On behalf of Julia's House the Dorset Children's Hospice I would like to thank the wonderful firefighters of Weymouth Fire Station who gave up their off duty time to organise a fun run.
Around 120 Santas chasing a Christmas pudding was a sight to behold. It was just the right start to our Christmas festivities.
Hopefully this will be an annual event held on the Sunday before Christmas.
A big thank you also to our volunteers who have worked so hard at numerous events throughout the year and the people of Weymouth and Portland for their generosity in supporting Julia's House.
The £600 received from the firefighters will go some way to start our fundraising for 2008 when the total of £1.9m is required to provide our hospice and respite care.
If you would like to help in any way come along to our meeting on Thursday, January 31 (7.30pm) at WI Hall Galwey Road Wyke Regis or phone 783807.
Brenda Bonwell, Chairman, Weymouth and Portland Friends of Julia's House.
