E4 has issued an apology after it replayed Wednesday night’s instalment of Married At First Sight UK rather than the highly-anticipated finale on Thursday.
The error was part of “ongoing tech issues” at Channel 4 after a fire alarm at the broadcast centre which affected programming on Saturday.
E4 issued a statement to viewers apologising for the error and said it would update fans of the show when the finale will end as soon as possible.
Married At First Sight is a popular dating show where couple are scientifically matched and get married on their first meeting. Viewers then follow their journey in the following weeks where contestants decide whether to carry on with their relationship.
Fans are now left wondering whether Amy and Josh will stay together as well as Tayah and Adam and Morag and Luke.
E4 issue apology to Married At First Sight UK viewers
In a statement on Twitter, the channel said: "We're aware it's yesterday's episode of #MAFSUK playing out this evening and apologise. It's all down to our ongoing tech issues which we're working hard on. We'll update here as soon as we know more and when you'll be able to see the final episode of MAFS UK."
They added: “To confirm, #MAFSUK and Afters won’t be playing tonight. We’re sorry again – we’re working to make it available on All 4 and E4 as soon as possible and we’ll update as soon as we know more.”
Channel 4, BBC, ITV and Channel 5 affected
Channel 4, the BBC, ITV and Channel 5 were all affected by the fire alarm aswere Paramount Network and E Music.
Red Bee Media blamed an "activation of the fire suppression systems" at its broadcast centre on Saturday.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman confirmed that ongoing technical issues were a result of the fire suppression system.
