A TRACTOR was completely destroyed after it crashed off the road and into woods - sparking a road closure.
Firefighters from across Dorset responded to reports of a tractor fire following a crash off the B3390 Waddock Drove north of Crossways going up towards Affpuddle at 4.41pm on Sunday (September 26).
A tractor, which was towing a trailer, was seen well alight in a hedge and firefighters quickly got to work to extinguish the blaze.
The road was closed as emergency services attended the scene with motorists urged to avoid the area.
Dorset Police say no one was injured in the crash or blaze, which saw the tractor completely destroyed.
A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service: “We were called to Waddock Drove at 4.41pm yesterday afternoon to a large vehicle fire.
“Crews from Maiden Newton, two from Wareham, Blandford, Dorchester and the water carrier from Poole attended the incident, finding a tractor well alight in a hedge on arrival.
“Six breathing apparatus wearers used hose reel jets and a main line to extinguish the fire but the tractor was 100 per cent destroyed.”
Firefighters left the scene after 6.30pm.
