MORE than a third of people across the south west have fallen victim to some form of fraud, according to figures.
A study by Censuswide, on behalf of debt management firm Lowell, revealed 38 per cent of people in the south west have experienced fraud - with 14 per cent of those having experienced debit or credit card fraud.
The figures also reveal other common types of fraud experienced by people in across the south west region include internet fraud (seven per cent) and cash machine fraud ( seven per cent).

Lowell said the study was a result of increase of fraudulent activity being reported across the UK during the pandemic.
The study revealed despite nearly three quarters of Brits (74 per cent) believing that they would not give out any details to someone claiming to be from their bank, nearly one fifth (18 per cent) of Brits have still experienced credit or debit card fraud.
Cases of fraud can be reported to police on 101.
