AN AREA has been cordoned off after a suspected grenade was found - just days after another suspected explosive was found in the area.

Police officers responded to a report of a suspected World War Two hand grenade that had been found in a field near Long Bridge Way in Dorchester at 1.22pm today (Friday, September 17).

Officers have put in place a cordon around the area to protect members of the public as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts assess the suspected explosive.

It is the second time this week that a suspected hand grenade has been found at the site, after police officers and the army were in the area on Tuesday morning (September 14).
