A HAIRDRESSER has said goodbye to 17 inches of her long locks in a bid to raise money for good causes.
Kelly Relph of Hobs Hair and Nail Bar in Weymouth had been growing her hair for 20 years before undergoing the dramatic chop for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and the Little Princess Trust.
After losing clients through the pandemic Kelly wanted to give something back knowing that the Weldmar hospice staff have been working so tirelessly.
Meanwhile the hair she had cut off will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to help make wigs for youngsters undergoing cancer treatment.
She said: "I was really nervous having my hair cut but it’s a pleasure to give my hair to little girls who need it more.
"I also want to give something back to all the hard dedicated NHS teams Nurses and children who may have suffered throughout these times."
Kelly has been a hairdresser now for 24 years and Hobs Hair and Nail Bar, the name of her salon in St Nicholas Street, is named after her three children Henry, Olivia and Bradley. It has been open for a year.
The clients Kelly has built up at Hobs have been generously donating to her fundraising total, and she has so far raised £340.
Kelly said: "I'd like to thank all my clients, young and elderly, for their very loyal support."
Joss Baker, a client at the salon, said: "Kelly is an amazing kind hearted human being, and in the past has supported me with by donating her children's clothes to the women's refuge.
"She's a very very kind person and has a massive heart."
