A BOMB disposal team rushed to a field to remove a suspected hand grenade.
A cordon was put in place on Long Bridge Way in Dorchester after police received a report that a suspected World War Two hand grenade had been found in a field at 9.17am this morning.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts attended to assess the site and remove the item.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 9.17am on September 14 that a suspected World War Two hand grenade had been found in a field in the area of Long Bridge Way in Dorchester.
"Officers attended and a cordon was put in place for the safety of members of the public as EOD experts attended to carry out an assessment.
"The item has been removed by EOD experts and the cordon is being lifted."
