A MAJOR route in Dorset has reopened after it was blocked in both ways due to a four-vehicle crash - as one driver was taken to hospital.
Police have confirmed the A37 has reopened just before noon with traffic flowing steadily moving after the crash on the major Dorset route.
Police said one driver has been taken to hospital after the crash.
Dorset Council said around 9am today the A37 was blocked both ways with queues of traffic due to crash, which happened between the Yetminster Turn Off and the Chetnole Turn Off
A spokeswoman from Dorset Police said: "The road has partially reopened but officers are still at the scene and there is no further update at this time.
"One driver has been taken to hospital."
Police said they received a report at 8.55am today of the four-vehicle crash on the A37.
Police said the road was closed, with one driver taken to hospital while recovery was arranged for the vehicles.
The crash, near to Melbury Osmond, affected traffic between Dorchester and Yeovil.
