A TRACTOR driver has died following a crash in rural Dorset.
Police officers were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a yellow Renault tractor, which was equipped with a front end loader and a rear fitted hay bobber, on Hackney near Corscombe at 9.06pm on Monday evening (September 6).
The driver of the tractor – a local woman aged in her 60s – was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed, Dorset Police say.
Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and to investigate the scene.
Officers investigating the fatal crash in West Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Police Sergeant Rhys Griffiths, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who very sadly died.
“A thorough investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public while the area was cordoned off as this allowed to us to respond in a safe manner and carry out a detailed examination of the scene.”
