TWO more cruise ships have moored at Portland Port.
MSC Virtuosa and Fred Olsen ship Borealis are moored at Portland Port. They join the P&O ship Aurora which moored up yesterday.
MSC Virtuosa, operated by MSC Cruises, is 331.4m long and can accommodate 6,334 guests and 1,704 crew.
She was originally scheduled to debut on November 8, 2020, but her delivery and entry was delayed due to the Covid pandemic. She was delivered to MSC Cruises on February 1, 2021 and entered serviuce in May.
Borealis was built in 1997 as christened by Princess Margriet of the Netherlands as MS Rotterdam. In March 2020, Rotterdam was dispatched to transport medical supplies to her sister vessel Zaandam after four passengers died.
In July 2020, it was announced that the ship had been sold to Fred Olsen where it was renamed to Borealis, making its maiden voyage in July 2021.
Borealis is 237.7m long and can accommodate 1,360 passengers and 662 crew.
