A MOTORIST caught driving illegally on New Years' Eve has been banned from the road due to repeat offending.
Paul David Wills, 46, was caught behind the wheel of a BMW on Great Western Road in Dorchester on December 31, 2019.
Police found he was driving without a valid driving licence and insurance.
Wills, of Cambridge Road, Dorchester, was arrested and charged, but pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The case, delayed due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, saw Wills found guilty of the offences in his absence on July 19 at Weymouth Magistrates' Court.
Wills was banned from driving for six months, as court registers note the 'disqualification (is) obligatory due to repeat offending'.
He was also ordered to pay a £180 fine, £50 in court costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
