A MAN accused of entering a convenience store with a knife in an alleged attempted robbery will stand trial later this year.
William Thorne, 24, is charged in connection with an incident at Broadwey Village Stores in Upwey on the afternoon of Saturday, July 24.
Thorne, from Frome in Somerset, has been charged with attempted robbery, criminal damage and possessing a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
In an appearance at Bournemouth Crown Court, he entered not guilty pleas to the three charges and will stand trial later this year.
A trial date has not been set, but the case will be heard at Bournemouth Crown Court for a further case management hearing during October.
Thorne has been released on conditional bail, with one of the conditions that he does not enter Dorset unless it is for the court case.
