TWO men have been arrested following a serious assault in a supermarket car park which left a man with a fractured skull.
The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was walking through the car park of Morrisons in West Street in Blandford Forum at around 1.10am on Sunday, August 8.
According to Dorset Police, he was approached by a group of men and assaulted. He suffered a fractured skull and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not life-threatening.
Following 'a heavy police presence' in Blandford today (Wednesday, August 11), two more arrests have been made as part of the investigation.
A 35-year-old man from Blandford was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
A 39-year-old man from Blandford was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
A 50-year-old man from Blandford, who was previously arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, remains released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information that may assist their enquiries to please come forward.
