A PERSON has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in North Dorset.

Emergency services, including firefighters, ambulance crews, police officers, responded to a report of a collision on the A354 in Sixpenny Handley at 11.47am today (Tuesday, August 10).

The road was closed for approximately two hours as people at the scene were treated and vehicles were recovered. An air ambulance also landed nearby.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police confirmed one injured person was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.

She added the injuries are 'not described as life-threatening or life-changing'.

She said: "We were called at 11.47am on Tuesday, August 10 to a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A354 at the junction with the B3081 at Sixpenny Handley in North Dorset.

"Officers attended with the fire and ambulance services.

"One person has sustained injuries that are not described as life-threatening or life-changing and is being taken to hospital."

The A354 reopened in both directions after 2pm and congestion in the area slowly started to ease. Traffic returned to normal at around 2.30pm.
