A PATIENT has died of coronavirus at Dorset County Hospital.
Figures released by the NHS reveal a patient died from coronavirus on Tuesday, August 3 while under the care of staff at Dorset County Hospital (DCH), in Dorchester.
Figures now show that 113 people have died of coronavirus at DCH since the start of the pandemic.
The figures show the last recorded Covid-19 related death at DCH - prior to the update - was as recent as July 27. Before the Covid-19 related deaths on August 3 and July 27, the most recent recorded death at DCH was March 31.
University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) incorporates the former Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust, as well as Poole Hospital.
Figures show that 744 people have died of coronavirus at UHD since the start of the pandemic.
The last recorded coronavirus-related death at UHD was on August 1.
Dorset Healthcare, the trust responsible for community hospitals and mental health care, has recorded 73 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic, with the last recorded Covid-19 death at Dorset Healthcare Universities Trust was recorded on March 14.
