A PATIENT has died of coronavirus at a Dorset hospital.
Figures released by the NHS reveal a patient has died from coronavirus on Sunday, August 1 while under the care of University Hospitals Dorset (UHD).
Figures now show that 744 people have died of coronavirus at UHD since the start of the pandemic.
The figures show the last recorded Covid-19 related death at UHD - prior to the update - was on July 26.
UHD incorporates the former Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust, as well as Poole Hospital.
The figures also show 122 patients have died from coronavirus while under the care of Dorset County Hospital (DCH) in Dorchester - with the last recorded Covid death at that site on July 27.
Dorset Healthcare, the trust responsible for community hospitals and mental health care, has recorded 73 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic, with the last recorded Covid-19 death at Dorset Healthcare Universities Trust was recorded on March 14.
