INVESTIGATIONS are ongoing into an alleged armed robbery of a Co-op nearly one month later.

Dorset Police say that a man, who was in possession of a handgun, entered the Co-op in Beaufoy Close in Shaftesbury, demanded money from a shop worker and then left with a quantity of cash at 1.36pm on Wednesday, June 30.

A spokesman for Southern Co-op at the time said they were 'grateful that none of our colleagues were physically injured in this incident.'

Shortly after the reported incident, a man was arrested in relation to the alleged robbery and has been released under investigation.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police confirmed there has been no further update in the investigation, as enquires continue into the circumstances of the incident.

Police officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with any information that may aid their investigation.
