POLICE recruited the help of a local drone officer in a bid to catch motorcyclists using scrambler bikes at a woodland in Weymouth.
Officers responded to reports of scrambler bikes in the area of Lorton Meadows and Teddy Bear Woods near Littlemoor yesterday afternoon and checked the area with the assistance of a local drone operator.
"At that time the individuals appeared to have left and there was no trace of them," a police spokesman said.
"We understand this is a regular problem which impacts local residents and dog walkers in particular, please continue to report incidents to Dorset Police through the normal channels should you witness similar incidents.
"We are working with Dorset Council Ranger Officers to try and address this issue."
Any persons caught using a motor vehicle on this land are likely to receive a section 59 warning and/or risk having the vehicle seized, the force has warned.
