A POPULAR fish and chip shop along Weymouth Harbour has been forced to temporarily close due to staff members having to self-isolate.
Bennett's Fish and Chips, based on Trinity Road, Weymouth, made the 'very difficult decision to close with immediate effect' this afternoon (Monday, July 26).
A spokesman for the chippy explained that due to staff members having to complete periods of self-isolation, it would be 'impossible' to remain open.
He added that the decision has been made to ensure both their staff and customers can be safe.
A spokesman for Bennett's Fish and Chips shared online: "Unfortunately we have had to take the very difficult decision to close with immediate effect.
"Due to staff having to complete periods of isolation it has become impossible for us to remain open. This isn’t a decision we have taken lightly and hope to be open again as soon as we can ensure that both our staff and customers are safe.
"We thank you all for your continued support during these difficult times from all the team at Bennett's Fish and Chips."
It comes as The Nook on Weymouth seafront announced they would close due to similar reasons on Friday (July 23).
