PORTLAND residents are set for another 'tropical' night tonight.
Forecasters predict that night-time temperatures will reach a hot-and-sticky 22 degrees Celsius on the island - as 'extreme heat' weather warnings remain in force throughout Dorset.
The current heatwave has made for an uncomfortable night's sleep for many people across Dorset and beyond, most particularly, those sleeping on Portland.
On Monday the Met Office shared a tweet that observed that Portland saw temperatures hit 20.1 degrees during the night.
And tonight is set to be even hotter for islanders.
Today's daytime temperatures are predicted to fall to around 22 degrees at 8pm - however the mercury is set to rise to 23 degrees from 10pm - dropping slightly to 22 degrees around midnight through to the early hours.
According to the Met Office, night time temperatures above 20 degrees are classed as a 'tropical night.'

The mainland is set to be somewhat cooler tonight - at around 19 degrees Celsius.
It comes amid the UK's first-ever amber 'extreme heat' weather warning, which remains in force until Friday.
