A MUSIC video of 'Save Our Ambulance Car' has now had more than 1,000 views on YouTube.
The song, based on a poem penned by Purbeck poet Carlotta Barrow, was written as part of the campaign to safeguard the future of Swanage's dedicated paramedic car.
Although health bosses say no decision has been made on the future of the car, and that community consultation will take place before any decision is taken, many campaigners remain convinced it will eventually be pulled out of the town.
Swanage Town Council member Debby Monkhouse – who also campaigned against the county healthcare shake-up which will eventually spell the end of A&E services at Poole Hospital — is at the forefront of the fight to secure the ambulance car's long-term future.
Cllr Monkhouse said: "The 24/7 Swanage-based paramedic car attends to 1,875 emergency call outs in Purbeck per year.
"More than half of these call outs are category 1-3 emergencies, the most serious, where there is risk to life or of long term disability.
"Swanage is the 'hotspot' clocking up more overall callouts, more category one imminent danger of death callouts and more category 1-3 callouts than the rest of Purbeck put together."
Songwriting duo Joe and Hannah Arnold of Overstory Folk wrote the song and lead the singing and playing in the video, along with singers Annie Campbell and Miro Vosper.
Tim Arnold, Joe's dad, produced the video, which also stars his granddaughter, Joe and Hannah's eight month old, Audrey.
The video features members of the Swanage community singing the chorus, and also artwork produced by local youngsters as part of the ongoing ambulance car campaign.
Cllr Monkhouse said: "We cannot afford to lose this Swanage-based 24/7 emergency service.
"It is a matter of life and death. We need our paramedic car."
