RESIDENTS on Portland experienced a ‘tropical night’ last night as the county enjoys a heatwave.
Many of us endured a difficult night’s sleep and were unable to sleep with the humidity and felt uncomfortable under a duvet on Sunday night (July 18).
It was an uncomfortable night for people across Dorset and beyond, most particularly, those sleeping on Portland.
The Met Office shared a tweet that observed that Portland saw temperatures hit 20.1 degrees during the night.

BBC Weather also observed that temperatures fell no lower than 20 degrees.
Weather enthusiast Portland UK Weather shared his surprise: “It's not very often Portland is the highest, or lowest, for temperatures.
“Just goes to show what happens when the wind is so light!”
Met Office predicts the warm weather is set to continue throughout this weekend, with chances of rain showers over the weekend.
