WEYMOUTH manager Brian Stock expects a “similar” test against Bridgwater United today (3pm) to the one provided by Portland United on Tuesday.
Stock’s men face a second Step 5 side in the space of five days for their third pre-season game of the summer.
The Terras have so far played Bournemouth behind closed doors and beaten Portland 6-0.
And Stock feels the onus is on Weymouth to take the game to the Adam Murry-backed Bridgwater, who are spending big in a bid to rapidly rise up the leagues.
Ahead of visiting the Western League outfit – ranked four divisions beneath them – Stock told Echosport: “It’s a similar test and obviously we’ll be expected to go and win the game.
“You can take the result away – I’m not fussed. Yes, we want to win and build that mentality but we’re still early into our pre-season.

“AFC Bournemouth behind closed doors was probably not the right decision in terms of how we wanted to plan pre-season but (the players) dealt with that brilliantly well.
“I’m sure they’ll put in the same amount of effort against Bridgwater.
“There’s a lot we can work on – understanding of where to be and how to press, how we want to work as a unit in terms of in and out of possession.
“That’s something that’s done on the training ground. I do believe that the best way to be fit is playing games, which is why we played Bournemouth and Portland.”
