THREE members of the Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat crew - all named John - have been presented with medals for long service.
John Cable, John Bird and John Rickard were presented with the medals by Mark Dowie, the CEO of the RNLI, on Monday, July 12.
Each of the three has each been part of the crew for twenty years.
Mr Dowie told the trio on the day: "Giving twenty years of your free time to any cause is a major commitment.
“You do very much more than you thought you would do when you joined, and I bet the people round here feel a lot safer because of what you do.”
Over his twenty years, Mr Bird has been part of both shore and sea-going crew and is also a tractor driver for the launching and recovery of the lifeboat. Mr Rickard has been shore crew throughout his time as a volunteer and is also vice chairman of the Lyme Regis and Charmouth Lifeboat Supporters. Mr Cable has been shore crew, a tractor driver, a member of the lifeboat crew and deputy launching authority.
