Facilities at a Weymouth holiday park have been closed following ‘noise and unruly behaviour’ by some guests, with a number of alleged serious offences reported to the police.
All entertainment facilities at Haven's Littlesea Park, based off Lynch Lane, have closed for the entire weekend to protect the safety of holidaymakers and workers after ‘intimidating and abusive behaviour of some guests’ yesterday.
A number of signs have been placed on the doors around the site informing guests of the decision along with texts and emails.
Affected guests are being offered 25 per cent refund on their stay if they remain on site, or a full refund if they leave the site.
Haven say that a number of alleged serious offences have been reported to Dorset Police and are currently being investigated.
Central facilities have been closed at Weymouth Bay and Seaview, Haven's two other local parks, as well.
The holiday company has apologised that the 'unforeseen behaviour’ has caused the closure of these facilities.
A spokeswoman for Haven said: "As a result of the intimidating and abusive behaviour of some guests on Friday, July 9, we have taken the difficult decision to close some of our facilities this weekend.
“A number of serious offences have been reported to Dorset Police which are being investigated so we cannot comment further.
“The safety and security of our guests, owners and team remains our number one priority and we believe keeping the facilities open during the weekend would have put others on our park at risk.
“We are very sorry that this unforeseen behaviour has meant we are unable to offer our normal Haven experience. We are offering refunds to those whose breaks have been impacted by these measures.”
