FANS are going football crazy ahead of England's clash with Italy in the much anticipated Euro 2020 final tomorrow.

England came away victorious on Wednesday after inflicting a 2-1 defeat on Denmark in extra time, sealing the Three Lions' place in their first final of a major tournament since 1966.

The historic occasion means England will face Italy at Wembley on Sunday at 8pm.

Fans in Dorset are excited for the final and showing their support for the England team with the hope that this year, it might really be coming home.

Police are asking fans to make final a 'night to remember for all the right reasons and not one of regret'.

Additional resources will be in place across Dorset with agencies reminding people to respect each other and behave responsibly while enjoying the game.

Assistant Chief Constable Sam de Reya, of Dorset Police, said: “Please show some restraint on Sunday win or lose."

A lot of people watching the game on Sunday will do so in the comfort of their local, and pub landlords in the area are preparing for the influx of customers - with many pubs in Dorset already fully booked.

Natalie Leeks, owner of The Golden Lion pub, Weymouth said: "We were fully booked literally half an hour after the game finished on Wednesday, and it's been like that for every game England has played in the Euros."

The pub has just received two more TVs which they will be installing ahead of the Sunday match.

She said: "Everyone that's been in has been very respectful to be fair."

Ashleigh Whitehorn, manager of the Wellington Arms, Weymouth said: "I'm very excited for Sunday and I think this is what the country needs, I've got my finger crossed we beat them.

"We're not taking bookings, so people can just walk in - it's just so that we could give everyone a chance, but most people get in here quite a few hours before the game so they don't lose their seats."

The Prince of Wales Primary School in Dorchester has gone all out to celebrate.

The school had a non-school uniform day yesterday and hosted a special street party which was followed by an afternoon of singing, dancing, face painting and flag waving. Headteacher, Gary Spracklen, said: "It has meant so much to the children, especially after the challenges of the past eighteen months. We are daring to dream... It's coming home!"

Dorchester’s Brewery Square is celebrating the Euros final with a free football-themed afternoon for families on Sunday.

Between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, attendees can enjoy some free Prosecco tasters from Morrish and Banham, and beer tasters from Copper Street Brewery. England flag cupcakes will also be available from YCs Café, alongside England flag face painting, courtesy of Pixie-Paint Face Painting.
